Friends of St George's

Message from the Friends of St George’s (FOSG)

We organise a variety of fun-packed events throughout the year to raise money for our children’s school. We are a group of parents who volunteer and welcome any parents to join in and help out.

We have a Friends’ committee and being part of the FOSG is a great way to get to know other parents at the school and be involved in the St George’s School community. You can get involved in a variety of ways including joining meetings and coming up with new ideas, helping plan functions, preparing for Christmas/Summer fairs, running a stall, volunteering to help us whenever you can and coming along and enjoying the events we have organised. We are grateful for any help you would like to offer.

If you would like to get involved in anything, please contact us on thefriendsofstgeorges@gmail.com

We raised over £20,000 for the accounting year ending on 31 August 2026 via a wide range of events and activities, including Summer and Christmas Fairs, Bake Sales, Freezy Fridays and Movie Nights. We also received generous donations via the Easyfundraising and JustGiving schemes, for which you can find links further down the page. Additionally, we've received several donations via employer matched funding and payroll giving - for more information on such schemes, please ask your company to see if they are offered.

We are delighted to be invited to appear in the Spring 2026 edition of Parentkind magazine and be given the opportunity to share our fundraising achievements and experiences with other PTA's. The article, which starts on page 28, can be found here:

Also, please enjoy the video below featuring Friends Committee members past and present on the astroturf pitch on the lower playground. This fantastic addition to the school was made possible by the incredible fundraising efforts of our school community during the 2023-24 school year. Every raffle ticket, cake sale, fair game and donation helped bring this vision to life.
